Spinner dolphins sleep in pairs, one with the left hemisphere asleep the other with the right. They each keep watch with one eye and half a brain. They are known to keep the same sleep-mate for life.

In 1964 a woman lived in a waterproofed house with a dolphin called Peter, tried to teach him English and had a sexual relationship with him.

Using a remote-controlled camera, biologists caught dolphins getting high by sucking on puffer fish. They were even caught passing the puffer fish around.
